FITT – Director, International Trade Resources
A two-year employment contract position based in Ottawa.


FITT equips businesses and individuals with the practical skills and knowledge required to be leaders in today’s global trade environment. As Canada’s international trade training and professional certification body, FITT sets the standards, designs the training, and assesses knowledge for the professional designation, Certified International Trade Professional (CITP).

The Director of International Trade Resources will be a member of the FITT Team, with a special focus on providing project direction, leadership, and management for the development of new, and maintenance of existing international trade resources for both print and online products and publications. The candidate must be able to work in both English and French, and have knowledge of international trade competencies and adult learning methodologies. S/he will be able to develop and manage their own work program to see projects to their completion under the project guidelines, manage external contractors, and create new products as needed.

EDC/FITT Internship - Get the Experience You Need!

EDC created the EDC-FITT Internship Program because international trade is critical to Canada’s economic prosperity. We are dedicated to helping students like you – the next generation of business leaders – to succeed. Through our Education and Youth Employment (EYE) Strategy, we contribute to building international trade capacity by assisting educational institutions and other stakeholders to prepare Canadian students for careers in international trade.

The chosen candidate will gain the one-year work experience required to become a CITP. Apply for the EDC-FITT Internship Program today for an opportunity to get that experience.

EDC is awarding one 12-month EDC-FITT Internship on an annual basis worth approximately $35,000. The intern will get exposure to the challenges of Canadian entrepreneurs while working on EDC’s Small Business Development team. The internship will include mentoring from leading industry experts at EDC’s head office and will begin in the summer of 2009.

EDC’s knowledge and partnerships are used by 7,000 Canadian companies and their global customers in up to 200 markets worldwide each year.
